John Blanckley/Tony Davies/Ms Anne Humphreys | Austin Westminster A90 | 1955 | ADV 505A | GB/GB/GB |
This crew and car all took part in - and won a gold medal on - HERO's London - Cape Town Classic Reliability Trial in 1998. Car preparation was masterminded by Tony Davies, with John doing all the work himself, which they hope will be a winning formula second time around. John describes himself as a 'professional layabout', and claims he's taking part in the Inca Trail because 'he has nothing better to do' at the end of the year. As a favourite personal item, he names Ann (no mention of Tony Davies here) The Westminster was originally owned by Terry-Thomas, and is known in 'the trade' as 'The Auld Bassoon' - though these two facts are completely unconnected. | ||||
