Rob was one of the first to enter the Inca Trail he put his name to a preliminary declaration of interest during HERO’s London Cape Town event in 1998. Aged 61, and now retired after an international business life, he still devotes about 60% of his time to business pursuits through board membership. The other 40% of his time is pure FUN. His wife is happy enough with this arrangement, and with the idea of him going off on the Inca Trail though two months, she says, is too long. As a remedy, Rob will have a satellite phone with him to help stay in touch. Rob considers that this crew of two experienced rally drivers and a novice will be good companions good enough to spend weeks together in the same space without a fight. The car was bought as a £2,500 scrap car: “just ask what work is NOT being done,” says Rob. He has no idea where it will end, or what it will all cost. | ||||
