Vic Quayle/Mrs Pam Quayle | Toyota Land Cruiser Colorado | 1999 | V583 MMO | GBM/GB |
Vic now works in publishing/consultancy, and was previously an environmental health officer. Pam works with Surrey County Council. They have two grown-up daughters, both worried about their inheritance. Doing the Inca Trail sees the fulfillment of a lifetime ambition for them - taking part in a really long distance motoring event. Vic has an extensive history in motor sport, having started road rallying at club level in his teens. In 1994 he took part in the Cape to Cape Challenge, when he broke the world record for travelling from Cape Tarifa in Southern Spain to Nordkapp in Norway. They are regular HERO event competitors, and Pam has regularly navigated for him. Vic looks forward to taking his Nordkapp T-shirt to wear at Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city. Having bought his Toyota through Peter Rushforth's Left Hand Drive Place, they hope to have Peter's personal attention if theyre unfortunate enough to break down, as Peter will be with us as Deputy Clerk of the Course. Vic is currently President of Guildford Lions Club, and is looking forward to meeting up with Lions living along the route. He is using the entry as an opportunity to raise funds for various charities, and aims to win the Charity Shield. See www.guildfordlions.fsnet.co.uk Vic hopes to be making daily reports direct from the event. | ||||
