Classic Crews Flock to Classic Malts

Already the fourth Classic Malts Scottish Reliability Trial - a Journey to Talisker (5 to 11 May 2001) is proving a tremendous hit with competitors just days after the full programme for the event being launched.

Building upon the success of the past three years, the rally makes a grand departure from Edinburgh Castle early on Saturday 5 May. The 1,300 mile competitive route takes crews through some of Britain's most splendid highland scenery, with visits to many historic castles and a number of the world's finest whisky distilleries.

A rest day at Talisker on the Isle of Skye - generously hosted by event sponsors Classic Malts of Scotland - is the prelude to some island-hopping: there's the chance to enjoy the fantastic rally territory of Mull, then a short trip to mystic Iona.

Already over 80 crews have reserved their entries, among them triple Classic Malts gold medallist Jayne Wignall, this time navigated by her mother, Beryl Neate, well known rally navigator of the 1960s. Can Jayne make it four in a row?

Crews new to rallying are especially catered for: there's the chance to learn more about the best way to tackle a HERO reliability trial at a one-day event to be held in April, plus a shorter mini seminar in Scotland in advance of the event start.
