Would you just love to do HERO’s stunning Arctic Winter Trial, but can’t spare the time or cash? We may have just the answer for you!
As there is not a full entry for the Arctic Winter Trial, we have decided to offer some of the unused places for a shorter version of the event, the Arctic Trophy, starting from Gothenburg on Monday 3 March and arriving in Kiruna on Friday 7 March.
The programme will be:
- Fri 28 Feb: 15:00 Depart Newcastle
- Sat 1 March: 17:30 Arrive in Gothenburg
Sun 2 March: Documentation and scrutineering, Gothenburg
Mon 3 March: 09:00 Start, Gothenburg
Overnight at Sunne, Sweden
Tue 4 March: Overnight at Røros, Norway
Wed 5 March: Overnight at Östersund, Sweden
Thur 6 March: Overnight at Lycksele, Sweden
Fri 7 March: Finish and overnight at Kiruna, Sweden
Sat 8 March: Winter Activity Day in Kiruna (snowmobiling, ice driving, Ice Hotel, etc)
Evening: prizegiving party
Sun 9 - Wed 12 March: Return by road to Gothenburg (1,550km; hotels and meals not included)
Thur 13 March: 10.00 Ferry sails from Gothenburg
Fri 14 March: 10.00 Ferry arrives Newcastle
There are competitive and touring categories for both classic cars and 4x4s. They will follow the same routes as the main Arctic Winter Trial.
The entry fee for this event will be £3,750 for the competitive regularity rally in either type of vehicle, and £3,250 for the touring event in either. This includes dinner, bed and breakfast for two people sharing a room at all the overnight halts named above (eight nights); a day’s programme of winter activities for two people at Kiruna; and various special functions. It does not include ferry fares to or from the UK.
